About Us

Eric & Janel Niceswanger have owned and operated Niceswanger Photography in their hometown of Carroll as a full-time, in-home portrait studio for over 23 years. Our portrait studio is located in the lower level of our home. We are in the residential district with a large, landscaped yard to accommodate lots of different photographic needs. We have parking available in the driveway of the home as well as on the street. We offer a comfortable place for family or friends to relax and enjoy the experience of being photographed.

Eric is a 1980 Top 5 graduate of the Hawkeye Institute of Photography in Waterloo. He received his Professional Photographers of America Masters of Photography Degree in 1992 and his Craftsman Degree in 2000. He has been awarded Iowa’s Top Photographer and one of Iowa’s Top Ten Photographers three additional times. Eric has served the Professional Photographers of Iowa for over 28 years in various capacities, including the Certified Professional Photographer Commissioner, a member of the Board of Directors for the state organization, and serving as President in 2001. We continue to further our education by attending many seminars and conventions to stay informed on the latest technology and trends. Eric continues to speak at many of these meetings as well, sharing his knowledge and experience with his peers.
